Savings Overdraft Transfer

Use your savings as your first line of defense to ensure your transactions are covered. Overdraft Protection allows funds to be transferred from a designated savings account to pay checks/draft, preauthorized debit, ACH debit, and debit card transactions, that would have been rejected items due to NSF. If there is not enough money available in the savings account(s), the payment will be rejected resulting in multiple fees from the credit union and the merchant not receiving the payment – unless you have a line of credit set up or Courtesy Pay is applied.

Line of Credit

By applying for a Line of Credit (LOC) as overdraft protection, you can enable another convenient service for protecting yourself from the possibility of rejected payments for non-sufficient funds. You can use your LOC up to your loan limit to cover your transactions if you do not have funds in your checking account.

Courtesy Pay

Courtesy Pay is a form of overdraft protection offered by OFCU.

Courtesy Pay is available to eligible account holders. This service is not available on all account types. Courtesy Pay adds peace of mind for inadvertant overdrafts.

Courtesy Pay allows your payment to go through once the existing overdraft protection options have been exhausted. When checks/drafts, preauthorized debits, ACH debits, and recurring debit card transactions are covered through Courtesy Pay, you will incur a fee for the convenience of having the transaction covered. Members may also “Opt In” to have ATM transactions and everyday (one-time) debit card transactions covered. The credit union is under no obligation to pay any items when a member’s account is overdrawn even if previous overdrafts have been paid.

The member must bring the account to a positive balance within 30 days from the time the Courtesy Pay was activated, including the fee. Privileges may be suspended if the account no longer meets qualifications.
